With the aim of making our offerings affordable, accessible and available, Team Leading Life reached Kutch!

As a collaborative effort, Sai’s Angel Foundation organized and Leading Life conducted career camp for students of 9 and 11 standard students at Faradi, Kutch.
Dates: 27 February, 28 February and 1 March 2025
Duration: Average 3 hours’ daily

The three-day career camp provided the students with the space and tools to know themselves and explore careers with enthusiasm.

The camp was focused on

1. Encouraging exploration,
2. Understanding interests, strengths
3. Bringing insight through hands-on activities
4. Enhancing career awareness
5. Promoting career alignment
6. Taking one step ahead

Our approach was simple and student centric.

We planned the sessions after understanding the audience helping us to customize it appropriately for the intended beneficiary. It focused on experiential, observational, and conversational methods to identify students’ natural inclinations. Each day’s activities included a mixture of mental and physical games, storytelling, sharing anecdotes and group tasks.

Throughout the sessions, they engaged their head in reflection, hands in action and heart
with compassion towards their exploration of self. The activities were facilitated to promote
analysis, reflection and presentation.

Major topics included:

1. Team work,
2. Self awareness (strengths, abilities, interest),
3. Non-verbal communication, emotions,
4. Dreams,
5. Problem solving,
6. Career personalities,
7. Fields for career personality.

The camp was concluded with a discussion on how career journey is long and knowing their own personality and interest is just the beginning for it. We further have a long way to go.

Key Highlights:

• Exceeded Time Duration: Each day students were engrossed and engaged well beyond the time limit. Last session was for total 4 hours’ duration.
• Actual Attendees: Planned only for 9^th standard students, the camp advanced to 11^th and then even 10^th standard students (7-9 girls joined for last session).
• Self-Discovery: Students delve into their interests and strengths, fostering self-awareness.
• Career Mapping: A dedicated session to know career personalities, understand and connect it to potential fields for themselves, providing direction.
• Follow up session: A task given to them will be further discussed upon to advance in career exploration and potential paths.

The three days were filled with learning, new paradigms and perspectives of these young girls.
Their high enthusiasm, participation, attention span, memory recall, proficiency in literary comprehension and cognitive capability to understand and derive conclusions was helpful towards enhancing their learning curve.

With their engagement, we could deliver more in-depth content than we had planned for.

Student Response:
They shared that the friendly and gamified approach made learning about career relatable
and easy to grasp. They also said that the camp provided them with a deeper understanding of themselves.
